Recode Media’s first full-length podcast: ‘Why are you so angry?”’ video
Recode, the online media company owned by Facebook, announced on Monday that it had commissioned the first full episode of its new podcast, Why Are You So Angry?, and is working with the National Park Service and other entities to produce it.
The podcast, which is scheduled to air on June 16, features guests like New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio and former President Barack Obama, who also discuss why they are angry and what to do about it.
The episode also features a candid conversation with the author of the book, the comedian Jimmy Kimmel, and actor Mark Ruffalo.
“This is our chance to do what a podcast can’t do, which, in this case, is tell a story that’s both entertaining and enlightening,” said Aaron Ybarra, chief operating officer of Recode.
“It’s an incredibly diverse and multifaceted conversation that celebrates the history of the park service, our nation’s parks, and the people who love them.”
The podcast is scheduled for a June 16 premiere.
Recode Media is one of the earliest companies to launch podcasts, and it is also the first major media company to offer a full-fledged podcast that includes guests.
But it has not been able to find a way to produce a full podcast with all the guests and hosts it has been able so far.
This was particularly problematic because podcasts have been a boon to the technology industry, which has grown exponentially over the past few years.
Recode’s podcast has a massive audience and is viewed by millions of people each week.
