How to avoid a ‘post-truth’ society
THE first thing people notice about Ireland is the Irish flag.
And it is easy to see why.
As it is, the country is not a country that has any particular tradition or identity, it is a country whose people do not identify with a particular language, culture or political party.
What people do, however, is appreciate that there are other ways of life and that there is no place for the extremes in Ireland.
The flag, of course, is a symbol of the nation, and that it is not simply a representation of the country.
That is what makes it so effective in our society, and so inspiring to the Irish people.
