How to ‘Make America Great Again’ with a little help from your family
President Donald Trump’s eldest son, Eric, has launched an ad campaign targeting white nationalist groups, warning that a “new world order” is coming.
“We need a president who’s ready to take on this ‘new world Order’,” Eric Trump says in the ad, which is airing on stations in Georgia, Texas and Alabama.
“Our future is at stake.”
The ad features a photograph of Eric Trump with his family at the Republican National Convention, and includes a message saying: “My father’s not the first president to take a stand against white supremacists.
He didn’t get elected to stop them.”
It has already racked up more than $2.2 million in digital ad buys, according to Kantar Media.
Eric Trump’s ad is the latest effort to highlight the president’s ties to the far-right, with the president himself also launching an ad that targeted a group of anti-Trump protesters last year.
“It’s time for us to rise up, and it’s time to put an end to white supremacy, racism and bigotry,” Eric Trump said in the 2017 ad, released by the group America First Policies.
“Donald Trump is the man who stood up to the president of the United States, and he is the president who will make America great again.”
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Eric has been an avid Trump supporter throughout his presidency, including his inaugural address, which he said he watched in his sleep, according of a profile by The New York Times.
In February, he appeared on a campaign rally with his father and told the crowd: “I can’t believe I’m here, but we’ve got to get America moving again.”
He also tweeted an image of himself with President Trump.
The president’s eldest child, Donald Trump Jr., has also been vocal in his criticism of President Trump, writing on Twitter that the President was “not my father, and neither was my grandfather”.
